Spring

Spring has sprung here in the Santa Clara Valley. Everything is blooming, the trees are full of leaves, and the birds are busy with their newly hatched broods. This time of year is always inspiring for me, and this Spring has been no exception.

I’ve spent some time experimenting with new (to me) techniques and materials. The first thing I’d like to share? Hand etched copper! I’m in love with this technique. The only limit is my imagination. To get the designs on the copper I can either stamp them with rubber stamps OR draw them freehand with a sharpie. Then through the magic of chemistry, the design becomes a permanent part of the piece!

Hand Etched Copper Pendant

This particular designs was drawn on to the copper freehand, with a sharpie. Spirals…of course…because I love them and incorporate them in to almost all of my designs in one way or another. This necklace has some beautiful garnets hanging from hand torched copper headpins. There are more garnets further up the piece, but you’ll have to wait till my Grand Opening to see the full view!

So…that’s my teaser for now. Check back for my next “new” experiment, using resin!

I hope you’re all enjoying Spring!
Blessings.
Peace.

Well, it’s May!

Happy May Day everyone! For me, it means I am nearly at my self imposed deadline… you see, I’m having a Grand Opening for my new shop. Here! ..at the Creative Goddess Collective.
I’ve been playing with beads and wire and metals for weeks now and I’m excited to offer a completely new look for Vintage Mom Creation followers. It’s a wider variety of items.. that mean something. You’ll find rings and necklaces and bracelets. I’m going to have plus size items and dainty items.. something for each and every goddess.
You will also find “custom” items at Vintage Mom Creations. I take your dreams and add them to a piece. For example.. a woman with 4 children of her own.. with 2 step children.. living far from home.
Here’s where we ended up..

You will also see ceremonial items as I am a Cherokee Woman. ( let’s set it straight right now.. for all the sticklers to the rules.. I am NOT CLAIMING to be certified by the BIA-I am not.) I don’t need to be.

I have been taught since I was a little girl  and I know who and what I am. I am a strong fearless woman. I have risen like a phoenix out of fire and I am better for it. I have healed and grown in these past few years like never before and now I can share my strenth with you through my art.

Welcome to Vintage Mom Creations and the Creative Goddesss Collective~We are glad you are here.. and we hope you will grow right along with us.

Many Blessings,
