I Thought I Was Procrastinating…

But Really, I Was Planting Seeds

bouquet of wildflowers

For years, I believed I was stuck.

I would complete one course, then find myself drawn to another.

Yoga.

Meditation.

Reiki.

Sound Healing.

Journaling.

Nature-Based Practices.

Creative Arts.

Horses.

Dogs.

Crystals.

Herbalism.

Each time I enrolled in something new, a little voice in my head would whisper:

"Why can't you just pick one thing?"

"Why are you changing direction again?"

"Shouldn't you know what you're doing by now?"

Maybe you've asked yourself the same questions.

Maybe you've started projects, followed new passions, explored different paths, and wondered if you were simply procrastinating on the thing you were really meant to do.

For the longest time, that's exactly what I thought I was doing.

But recently, standing in my garden, I had a different realization.

What if I wasn't procrastinating at all?

What if I was planting seeds?

Seed Has Its Season

As women, we're often told to niche down.

Pick one thing.

Choose one path.

Become known for one skill.

But nature doesn't work that way.

A garden isn't made up of one flower.

A thriving garden contains many varieties, each blooming in its own season.

Some flowers burst into life quickly.

Others take years to establish deep roots before they reveal their beauty.

When I look back now, I can see that every certification, every workshop, every late-night study session was simply another seed being planted.

The yoga taught me how to reconnect with the body.

Meditation taught me how to find stillness in the chaos.

Reiki showed me the powerful connection between science, energy, and healing.

Sound healing taught me the power of vibration and rest.

Journaling helped me discover my inner voice.

Creative arts gave me a way to express what words couldn't.

Horses taught me presence, boundaries, and authentic connection.

Nature reminded me that healing happens when we slow down.

None of these experiences were wasted.

Each one was quietly growing beneath the surface.

The Problem With Looking at Seeds

The challenge is that when you're in the middle of the journey, all you can see are the seeds.

You can't yet see the garden.

You can't see how the pieces fit together.

You just see unfinished ideas.

Half-built websites.

Courses you've completed.

Projects you've started.

Dreams you've parked for later.

And from that perspective, it can feel messy.

It can feel like you're going in circles.

But what if the circles are actually spirals?

What if every step is bringing you closer to the work you're uniquely meant to do?

The Bouquet Moment

The realization came to me like a beautiful wildflower bouquet.

Every flower in a bouquet has its own colour, shape, fragrance, and purpose.

On its own, each flower is lovely.

But together, they create something extraordinary.

That's when I realised:

I wasn't collecting certifications.

I was gathering flowers.

Every course.

Every experience.

Every lesson.

Every challenge.

Every season of uncertainty.

Another flower.

And now, for the first time, I can see the bouquet.

The Work I Am Here to Do

One day, a woman will arrive feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected from herself, and unsure of what she needs.

I won't simply hand her a journal.

Or a yoga mat.

Or a Reiki session.

Or a horse experience.

Instead, I will offer her a bouquet.

A carefully gathered collection of tools, experiences, and practices that have supported my own journey.

Perhaps she'll begin with breathwork.

Maybe she'll spend time with the horses.

Perhaps she'll create art.

Pull an affirmation card.

Sit quietly in nature.

Receive Reiki.

Journal her thoughts.

Or simply listen to the sound of crystal bowls drifting across a wildflower field.

Each experience will be different.

But together, they create something powerful.

A pathway back to herself.

Trust the Seeds You're Planting

If you're reading this and feeling like you're behind...

If you're questioning why your journey hasn't looked as straightforward as everyone else's...

If you're wondering whether you've wasted time exploring too many different things...

I want you to know this:

You don't always need to see the finished bouquet to trust the seed.

Sometimes your only job is to keep planting.

Keep learning.

Keep growing.

Keep following what lights you up.

Trust that the dots will connect.

Trust that what feels scattered today may become your greatest gift tomorrow.

Nature never rushes a bloom.

And neither should you.

A Gentle Invitation

Take a moment today and make a list of all the seeds you've planted throughout your life.

The skills you've learned.

The experiences you've had.

The challenges you've overcome.

The passions you've explored.

Then ask yourself:

What if none of it was wasted?

What if you weren't procrastinating?

What if you were simply creating the bouquet you're one day meant to share with the world?

Because beautiful things take time to grow.

And perhaps, just perhaps, you're blooming exactly when you're meant to.

Plant the seed.

Trust the season.

Gather the bouquet.

Share the bloom.

I'd love to know — what flowers make up your bouquet?

What experiences, passions, skills, or lessons have helped shape the woman you are today?
