The Garden Doesn't Bloom All Year (And Neither Do We)

For a long time, I thought there was something wrong with me.
I would have an idea that lit me up. I'd create plans, design workbooks, plant gardens, dream of workshops, and imagine all the beautiful ways I could help women reconnect with themselves.
And then I would stop.
I'd question everything.
I'd change direction.
I'd convince myself I wasn't ready yet.
Maybe it was too hot.
Maybe it was too cold.
Maybe I needed another qualification.
Maybe I needed a better website.
Maybe I needed more confidence.
Perhaps you've felt that way too.
Watching everyone else seem to move forward while you stand still, wondering why things aren't blooming as quickly as you hoped.
But recently, while sitting in my Wildflower Soul Sanctuary, I had a realization.
The garden doesn't bloom all year.
And neither do we.
In nature, there are seasons for growth, seasons for flowering, seasons for harvesting, and seasons for rest.
The rose doesn't apologize for losing its petals in winter.
The seed doesn't panic because it can't yet see the sunlight.
The garden understands something we often forget:
Growth is still happening, even when we can't see it.
For years, I thought I was building workshops, courses, flower gardens, journals, and healing experiences.
I thought I was creating a business.
But looking back now, I can see I was creating something much deeper.
I was creating a sanctuary.
Not just for others.
For me.
Every flower bed planted.
Every journal page written.
Every horse connection.
Every Reiki course.
Every crystal singing bowl.
Every quiet morning spent wondering what I was meant to do next.
They weren't distractions from the path.
They were the path.
They were all gently leading me home to myself.
And perhaps that's what your current season is doing too.
If life feels slow right now...
If you're questioning your direction...
If you're frustrated that things aren't moving as quickly as you'd hoped...
Maybe you don't need to push harder.
Maybe you don't need another plan.
Maybe you're simply in a different season.
A season of rooting.
A season of gathering wisdom.
A season of becoming.
Because before every wildflower blooms, there is a period where all of the growth happens beneath the soil.
Invisible.
Quiet.
Uncelebrated.
Yet absolutely essential.
The truth is, we live in a world that celebrates blooming.
The launches.
The achievements.
The transformations.
The finished garden.
But rarely do we celebrate the seasons in between.
The waiting.
The healing.
The learning.
The becoming.
Yet those seasons are where the magic happens.
As I look around the Wildflower Soul Sanctuary today, I see more than flowers and horses and beautiful spaces.
I see evidence that every season mattered.
Even the seasons when I thought nothing was happening.
Especially those seasons.
So if you're in a winter season right now, be gentle with yourself.
Trust the roots you are growing.
Trust the lessons you are gathering.
Trust that beneath the surface, something beautiful is preparing to bloom.
The garden doesn't bloom all year.
And neither do we.
But when our season arrives, all that quiet growth becomes something extraordinary.
Keep tending your garden.
Your bloom will come.
