Why I'm Signing It Today (And Why I Hope You'll Sign It Too)
Every January, we make promises to ourselves.
We promise to be healthier.
More organised.
More productive.
More disciplined.
But somewhere along the way, many of those promises quietly disappear.
Not because we didn't care.
But because they were built around becoming someone different.
The Wildflower Manifesto is different.
It isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about remembering who you've always been.
A woman who longs to create.
To notice beauty.
To slow down.
To gather forgotten treasures.
To tell her story one page at a time.
That is why I don't want to wait until next January.
I'm signing it today.
Because today is the day I choose to create.
A Promise to Myself
The Wildflower Manifesto isn't a list of rules.
It isn't another goal to achieve.
It is a gentle promise.
A reminder of the kind of creative life I want to live.
A life where I don't measure success by how many journals I make, how many followers I have, or how many products I sell.
Instead, I measure it by something much quieter.
Did I create today?
Did I notice beauty?
Did I spend time in my own little corner of the world?
Did I listen to my heart?
Did I leave my studio feeling more like myself than when I walked in?
Those are the things that matter.
Every Page Is a Garden
One of the first lines in the Wildflower Manifesto says:
"We believe every page is a garden."
The more I thought about those words, the more I realised they aren't really about journals.
Gardens don't bloom overnight.
They need seasons.
Patience.
Care.
Some days you plant.
Some days you weed.
Some days you simply sit on the bench and enjoy what's already growing.
Our creative lives are exactly the same.
Not every day is meant for producing.
Some days are for gathering ideas.
Some are for learning.
Some are for resting.
Every season belongs.
The Vision Board Is the Dream. The Journal Is the Journey.
If you've followed me for a while, you'll know how much I love creating vision boards.
At last count, I have seven hanging on my walls.
Some people might think that's a little excessive.
I think they're windows into the life I'm intentionally creating.
But over the years, I realised something important.
A vision board can show us where we want to go.
It can't tell us how to get there.
That's where my journal quietly became the missing piece.
At the beginning of every month, I sit with my vision board and ask myself a different question.
Not...
"What do I want someday?"
But...
"What is one small step I can take this month?"
That simple question changed everything.
Instead of chasing a dream that felt far away, I began creating a gentle path towards it.
One month.
One page.
One promise.
One small action at a time.
Soul Inquiry: Listening Before Doing
This is where the Wildflower Method becomes more than a creative process.
Before I create a journal page, I begin with Soul Inquiry.
Soul Inquiry isn't about finding the perfect answer.
It's about creating enough quiet to hear your own.
Each month I spend time reflecting on questions like:
What season am I in?
What is quietly calling me forward?
What do I need more of?
What do I need to gently let go of?
How do I want to feel this month?
Those reflections become the seeds I plant on the page.
My vision board gives me the destination.
My journal helps me discover the next step.
Together, they create a life that feels intentional instead of overwhelming.
Why We Sign the Manifesto Every Year
I hope this becomes a tradition.
Every January, we'll print the Wildflower Manifesto.
We'll make a cup of tea.
We'll sit quietly in our favourite creative space.
We'll read every word slowly.
Then we'll sign our names at the bottom.
Not because we've forgotten.
But because every year we become someone new.
Our dreams change.
Our seasons change.
Our journals change.
And our hearts continue to grow.
But Why Wait?
If you've found your way here today, perhaps this is your season to begin.
You don't need January.
You don't need a perfect journal.
You don't need a finished vision board.
You simply need the courage to ask yourself one honest question.
Then take one gentle step.
That is enough.
My Invitation to You
Today, I'm signing the Wildflower Manifesto.
I'm choosing to create intentionally.
To dream boldly.
To listen deeply.
To trust that small, consistent steps can grow into extraordinary things.
If you'd like to join me, print the manifesto.
Place it inside your journal.
Create your vision board.
Then, at the beginning of every month, open your journal and begin your own Soul Inquiry.
Ask yourself what this season is inviting you to become.
Choose one small step.
Create one beautiful page.
Because every page is a seed.
Every month is another season.
And every season brings you a little closer to the life you've imagined.
May we never create to impress.
May we create to remember.
May we honour every season.
May we gather beauty wherever we find it.
May we dream with courage.
May we listen before we rush.
May we take one small step at a time.
May we create from our hearts.
May we inquire with our souls.
May we bloom wildly.
Welcome to the Wildflower Method.
I'm so grateful you're here.
